Transformational change is probably the toughest to get right. Unlike projects involving improvement to existing systems and processes, or the introduction of new regulation, products or services, transformational change has distinct challenges.

It fundamentally alters business strategy and the underlying business model. It is large and has significant impact across the whole organisation. Often, whilst the business outcomes are clear, the road to achieving the change is discovered incrementally throughout the programme. Transformational change significantly affects people - employees, customers, other external stakeholders.
